Amanda Turner Named Assistant Principal of Heath Middle School
McCracken County Public Schools is excited to announce that Amanda Turner has been named Assistant Principal of Heath Middle School!
With 24 years of experience in education and a strong background in leadership, instruction, and student support, Turner will join incoming principal Nathan Metzger to lead Heath Middle School into the future.
We are also grateful for the leadership of Principal Matthew Blackwell and Assistant Principal Cory Tilford, who will retire at the end of the school year after years of dedicated service to the Heath Middle community.

🎉 Congratulations to our MCHS juniors who graduated as part of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce Youth LEAD Class #15! 🎉
The graduation ceremony was held this morning at the Chamber of Commerce Power in Partnership Breakfast, where students from across the region were recognized for completing the Youth LEAD program.
McCracken County High School graduates include:
Mollie Canter, Paxton Carver, Mason Clements, Ethan Dillon, Katelyn Dillon, Sam Dobson, Anna Grace Everett, Nolan Goode, Lilly Hamilton, Brennen Hartman, Meimei Manea, Neely Nyberg, Addy Richards, Caroline Roberts, Kole Robertson, Gavin Schooley, Grant Seaton, Ansh Sha, Ashton Wallace, Luke Whiteside, and Brock Wilson.
The Youth LEAD program is designed to develop and prepare students for future community support and leadership roles in Paducah-McCracken County. The program brings together high school juniors from Paducah Independent Schools, McCracken County Public Schools, private, and homeschool systems.
Throughout the six-month program, students spend one day each month learning about:
Human needs & service learning
Communication & career development
Business & economy
Law & government
Energy & transportation
Health care

Lone Oak Elementary is making a life-saving impact
Today, the American Red Cross recognized Lone Oak Elementary as the largest Future Blood Donors partner in the Kentucky Region, celebrating more than 16 years of service and over 1,200 blood donations collected.
This incredible achievement is a testament to the leadership of Emily Bremer and a school community committed to helping others. From students to families, Lone Oak continues to show what it means to give back and make a difference.
We are proud of the example they set for our entire district—proving that even our youngest learners can have a powerful impact on lives across our region.

Big things are happening at Heath and Concord Elementary!
Construction is moving right along at both schools, and we’re excited to share some of the latest progress:
🔹 Concord Elementary – Roofing is set to begin later this week, and crews are already hard at work installing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire suppression systems throughout the building.
🔹 Heath Elementary – Block work has started on the gym, and 75% of the gym roof decking is already in place! Inside, utilities continue to be installed, and the office area is now framed and getting ready for drywall.
We’re also working closely with contractors to finalize additional upgrades that will take place in the existing buildings this summer.

Seven talented singers from McCracken County High School were selected to perform with the ACDA Southern Division National Honor Choirs in Memphis, Tennessee—an incredible honor earned through a highly competitive audition process!
These students joined some of the best vocalists from across the southern United States to rehearse and perform at an elite level.
A special congratulations to Abby Scheer and Ben Trevino, who were also selected as soloists—an outstanding achievement!
We are so proud of all seven students for representing MCHS with excellence!
