Jack recently represented McCracken County High School and the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the 2026 National High School Musical Theatre Awards (Jimmy Awards) in New York City, where he performed alongside some of the nation's top high school musical theatre students.

Congratulations to McCracken County High School senior Ava Adame on being selected to serve on the 2026-2027 Kentucky Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council!

Ava is one of just 16 new students from across Kentucky chosen to serve on the council, which provides student input to the Kentucky Department of Education on issues impacting schools and students across the Commonwealth.

Throughout the school year, Ava will meet with Kentucky Commissioner of Education Robbie Fletcher and KDE staff to help ensure student voices are part of important conversations about the future of education.

The McCracken County Board of Education recognized the cast and crew of Oklahoma! at the June Board meeting for their outstanding achievements.

The McCracken County High School theatre program earned seven Kentucky Performing Arts Bradley Awards, including Best Overall Musical Production. The Board also recognized senior Jack Nelson for being named Best Actor in a Leading Role and advancing to the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Jimmy Awards).

Registration is now open for McCracken County Youth Football offering Flag and Tackle Football for the Fall 2026 season.

🏈 Flag Football: Boys & girls in K–2nd grade, with an option for 3rd grade fall 2026

Practices will be held near Reidland, Lone Oak, and Heath. Tackle season runs from late July / early August through Fall Break, with games starting in August.

🍎 Summer Meal Bag Pickup Today! 🍎

Today is Tuesday, and that means meal bags are available for pickup through the McCracken County Public Schools Summer Nutrition Program.

📍 Pickup Locations:
• Lone Oak Middle School
• Reidland Elementary School

🚗 Please follow the posted signage at each school for meal bag pickup.

⏰ Pickup Times:
• Pre-Registered Students: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• Non-Pre-Registered Students: 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. while supplies last

Please remember that during June and July, on-site feeding is only available to students registered to attend camps and/or activities at the schools.

Meal bags will be available each Tuesday through July 28.
