Winter Softball Camp @ MCHS

🥳🍔 Congratulations to the MCHS Advanced Foods and Nutrition Class! 🍔🥳 We’re excited to announce that our students have won Burger of the Week for the Week of October 28th in the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) Farm to School Month Burger Battle! 🎉 The challenge? To create a delicious burger using Kentucky Proud ingredients from across the state. These talented students crafted a mouthwatering burger featuring: ⭐️Wood Brothers beef from McCracken County ⭐️Kirchhoff’s bread ⭐️Starnes BBQ and Patti's BBQ sauce ⭐️Homemade pickles made by the students 🥒 ⭐️Mustard & cheese sourced from Kentucky producers 🧀 Not only did they create a burger that supports local agriculture, but they also showcased the best of our community’s flavors. #McCrackenProud

The MCHS Chess Team took 1st Place at the 2024 Membership Tournament held at Paducah Tilghman High School on Saturday, October 19.  Individually, Ella Chuppe came in 1st winning all 4 of her games.  Colin McCurren came in 4th winning 3 out of 4 games.  The next meeting is Thursday 10/31 after school.

Over the weekend, our talented Mustang Media students—Sofia Rinella, Makenzie Wilcher, Sydney Turner, and Charley Moore—filmed performances for this year’s Lion’s Club/WPSD Telethon of Stars! Tune in to catch their work on December 7th at 6:30 PM on Local 6. Don’t miss it! #McCrackenProud

Huge shoutout to McCracken County Freshman Gabby Redfield! Gabby, a member of the NAACP Youth Council, not only helped with the ideas for the Hispanic Heritage Month Event, but also took the lead in organizing and being the emcee. The event featured speakers, delicious authentic Mexican foods, and a chance for the community to come together and celebrate. Congratulations, on a great event! What a wonderful opportunity to honor and celebrate the rich culture and contributions of the Hispanic community in our area. We are #McCrackenProud of you! *The event is organized by the NAACP Youth in collaboration with the City of Paducah, the Human Rights Commission, and the Paducah Advocacy Board.

This week, Freshman Academy students participated in an interactive training based on the  Youth Thrive™ Framework. Using peer-to-peer card sets rooted in Protective Factors, young people feel heard through conversations that matter.
