Congrats to Devin Moore, Tyler Chandler, Caleb Melton, and Alex Smith! Throughout the school year, more than two dozen outstanding tech students were selected as AGC Students of the Week. These students were recognized for their excellence in both their trade programs and academics at the AGC of Western Kentucky’s annual Awards Banquet on Thursday. Each student honored received a plaque, a scholarship, and a Milwaukee M18 drill set. We are #McCrackenProud of their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments!

🚨 Student Spotlight 🚨 Congrats to Junior Evan Whitler! He is officially a Level 1 Certified Firefighter in the state of Kentucky! #McCrackenProud At just 17 years old, Evan has already shown incredible dedication to public service through the Junior Firefighter Program, balancing his responsibilities as a high school junior while working toward this impressive certification. 👨‍🚒📚 Evan's goal? To join the department full-time after graduation next summer — and we have no doubt he'll get there. 🙌 The Junior Firefighter Program, open to students ages 15–17, is an incredible opportunity to inspire and prepare the next generation of first responders. Evan is a shining example of what passion, discipline, and community commitment can achieve.

Our McCracken County High School Culinary students had the opportunity to teach knife skills to elementary students from HLOE! From proper technique to kitchen safety, it was a hands-on learning experience for both our big and little Mustangs. #McCrackenProud

On Tuesday at 7 AM, they received a mystery list of required elements and had 48 hours to plan, film, edit, and submit a short film (no more than 3 minutes!) for a fun and fast-paced state competition with 37 teams across Kentucky. Due to severe storms that moved through tonight and ongoing power outages, McCracken County Schools will have a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day on Thursday, April 3, 2025 to allow time for damage assessment across the district.

McCracken County FFA’s River Valley Ag Credit Greenhouses will be open from April 15th - May 10th (or until they sell out)! 📅 Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM 📅 Saturday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Congrats to the Paducah Rotary Speech Competition Winners! First Place was Senior Sophie Hollowell and Second Place was Junior MaKenna Brown! #McCrackenProud Students received a certificate and a cash prize. First place winner moves on to the sectionals in Mayfield.

Mrs. Atnip and 10 of her AP Environmental Science students participated in Eco-Think, an event hosted by Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, Sprocket, and UK College of Engineering, where they used collaboration and problem-solving with other local high school students to explore society’s integration of autonomous vehicles to reduce environmental impacts.  #McCrackenProud

🏀🍔 MARCH MADNESS: FOOD EDITION! 🍕🏀 Mrs. Ford’s AP Lang and English III students are bringing the heat—debate style! 🔥 They created their own Food March Madness brackets to practice building arguments and counterclaims. From pizza vs. tacos to donuts vs. brownies, these students are sharpening their persuasive skills one delicious matchup at a time! #McCrackenProud

🥁 McCracken County Represented at West Kentucky Percussion Festival 🎶 Seniors Pluto Beal and Riley Clevidence were selected to be part of the Honor Drumline 🥁 at the West Kentucky Percussion Festival in Muhlenberg County this weekend. They spent two days learning from the legendary Ben Lupton, Battery Captain of Nashville’s Music City Mystique 🎵. McCracken was also represented by Bailey Beard (junior), who participated in the marimba clinic at the festival. Congratulations to these talented musicians for their hard work and dedication! 🎶

🌞 Monday was a beautiful day to celebrate culture and community! MCHS Culinary Arts and ESL students explored global flavors right here in our own town — sampling dishes from Thailand, Mexico, Romania, India, and Ukraine. 🇹🇭🇲🇽🇷🇴🇮🇳🇺🇦 Huge thanks to Thai@US and Mi Lindo Michoacan for the amazing food and hospitality, and to the UK Extension office for opening their kitchen to us. Special shoutout to Mrs. Shah for sharing Indian culture and to Anya Rothrock for giving us a glimpse into life in Ukraine. 🌍 This unforgettable experience was made possible by our Community Schools grant — thank you for helping bring cultures to life for our students!

It was a FUN FFA Friday at McCracken County High School as we celebrated National Agriculture Awareness Day! Starting bright and early, FFA students with their tractors, trucks, and equipment circled the school to showcase the vital role agriculture plays in our community and daily lives. (Check out Principal Smith driving a tractor!) After the drive, there was a breakfast and short program highlighting the importance of agriculture education. Special thank you to Rep. Steven Rudy for being the guest speaker during National Agriculture Education Week! #McCrackenProud

Mustangs in the Kitchen! Mrs. Woodruff's Culinary students showed off their skills by preparing a delicious lunch for Ford NGL coaches, MCHS administrators, and school officials!
