McCracken students are gaining skills that truly save lives. From First Aid and CPR to earning certifications—including Stop the Bleed—these students are stepping up in a big way. In these photos, students put their skills to the test during a Stop the Bleed tournament, competing to pack wounds and apply tourniquets quickly and effectively. They’re also practicing CPR, building confidence in critical, life-saving techniques.
We are so proud of their dedication and hard work as they prepare to respond when it matters most.

Growth in action at MCHS! Mrs. Harner’s HERD class recently transplanted spider plants they’ve been propagating over the past two weeks—bringing hands-on learning to life. HERD Time is more than an advisory period; it’s a time for students to build leadership skills, explore college and career pathways, and connect through meaningful, real-world experiences.

No slowing down for these Mustangs! On the very first day back from Spring Break, Mrs. Coleman’s AP Calculus AB students jumped right into action by taking a mock exam—talk about dedication and grit! We are proud of their hard work and commitment to success.
Also, a huge THANK YOU to Pizza Inn for generously donating pizzas to keep our students fueled and focused! Your support made a big difference!

Congratulations to Gavin Vance on being named AGC Technical Centers Student of the Week!
Gavin is a great example of taking initiative and following your passion. To fully commit to the welding program at West Kentucky Community and Technical College, he made the decision to become an online student—spending his days gaining hands-on experience and working toward his certification while giving up many parts of the traditional high school experience. His journey is a powerful reminder that success doesn’t always follow the traditional path—and while that path may require sacrifice, it can lead to an even greater outcome. #McCrackenProud
McCracken County High School is committed to equipping students with real-world skills and preparing them for high-demand careers in the skilled trades. As part of this commitment, we are actively developing our own programs—such as welding—set to launch in the 2026–2027 school year.

McCracken County HOSA (Future Health Professionals) students recently attended the HOSA State Leadership Conference in Louisville, KY. Our students participated in engaging, medical-themed symposium sessions, explored future opportunities through campus tours at the University of Louisville, and showcased their skills while competing in HOSA State Competitive Events. We are #McCrackenProud of their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to pursuing careers in healthcare!

What happens when you give students a digital camera, a small light source, and a piece of paper? Mrs. Griffith’s photography students in Digital Imaging Class was given just that. They’ve been learning about light and shadow while using completely manual camera settings. They were then able to use Adobe Photoshop to enhance and crop their photos.
