Last week’s Dual Credit meeting was standing room only! We’re #McCrackenProud of our juniors and seniors who are taking advantage of incredible opportunities—this semester alone, MCHS students are enrolled in 395 dual credit classes! 👏🎓 #opportUNITY
Learning is fun at McCracken! Mrs. O’Bryan’s Sophomore English classes stepped right into Roald Dahl’s The Landlady! To bring the story to life, Mrs. Lakshmi O'Bryan donned her best gray wig while serving tea and biscuits—just like the mysterious landlady herself. Students loved the immersive twist while diving into this classic short story.
🏌️♂️ Mustang Golf keeps rolling! On Saturday (8/23), our boys won the Christian Co Invitational at Western Hills with a 10 under par 278—just 1 shot off a school record! 🔥🐎
✨ Individual Highlights:
🥇 Landon Hunt – 1st place individual with an incredible 8 under par 64 (possible school record!)
🏅 Dallas Vinson – 5th place with a strong 2 under par 70
🏅 Jack Farmery – steady at 1 under par 71
🏅 Evan Hack – solid round of 1 over par 73
🏅 Tanner Kight – contributed with a 78
👏 Jack Conway competed as an individual.
Through 13 tournaments this season, Mustang Golf has earned:
✅ 11 wins
✅ 1 second-place finish
✅ 1 third-place finish
Next up: the Semi State Preview at Crosswinds (Bowling Green) on 8/30—good luck, Mustangs!

Last week in Mrs. Woodruff’s Culinary classes, students put their skills to the test in creative (and tasty) ways! 🍴✨
👩🍳 Culinary 1 students reviewed kitchen math, tools, and techniques to earn supplies for building team catapults—then used problem-solving and communication to compete in a marshmallow-launching contest (bonus points for landing them in teammates’ mouths! 😂).
👨🍳 Culinary 2 students explored the 5 Tastes and flavor profiles through a blind taste test, classifying foods as sour, sweet, bitter, salty, umami, or a combination.

Dr. Beales and the Fleet Reserve Association presented William Wilson with a trophy and a $40 gift card for coming in 2nd place in their essay contest. William was an 8th grader at Reidland Middle School last year and is now a member of Freshman Academy at MCHS. The Fleet Reserve Association hosts an annual essay contest for an opportunity to win a $1,500 grand prize. This is for all students, grades 7-12. We look forward for the opportunity to have students participate in the upcoming essay contest! #McCrackenProud

🧪🔬 Teamwork in Science! 🔬🧪
Mrs. Brooks’ science classes kicked off the year with a fun and challenging team-building activity to get ready for partnered labs and experiments. Students tackled task cards both with and without talking—learning firsthand how tricky communication (or the lack of it) can be.
They wrapped up by discussing what worked, what didn’t, noticing who stepped up as leaders, who shined at following directions, and creating their own group norms to guide their work together this year. A great start to building strong lab partnerships! #McCrackenProud

✅ Taken a tour of the building
✅ Met with Freshman Counselor Mr. Simmons to talk about grades, GPA, study skills, and the importance of self-value in high school
✅ Met with Mr. Hines about technology and HelpDesk support and resources
We’re excited to see these Mustangs building a strong foundation for their high school journey!
