
Yesterday evening and today, McCracken County High School will host KMEA 1st District Jazz! Students from across West Kentucky will be rehearsing and performing. The culmination concert will be tonight at 7:00 PM.

The solar eclipse brought people from all over to the Paducah area to witness the event in the path of totality. Comedian Nate Bargatze hosted his podcast “Nateland” on the McCracken County High School football field for the event. The podcast episode featured fellow comedians John Crist, Aaron Weber, Brian Bates, and Greg Warren.

Congratulations to the members of the MCHS Girls Soccer Team: Makenzie Burgett, Audrey Haley, Ana Mendoza, and Heather Mendoza, as well as to Johnny Mendoza, a member of the MCHS Boys Soccer Team. Over Spring Break, they traveled to Italy with the Kentucky Youth Soccer Olympic Development Team. They were able to train with professional coaches and played games against international opponents!

Congratulations to Chess Team member Charlie Beckner. He came in 1st Place in the under 900 division at the Jackson Purchase Open Chess Tournament held at McCracken County High School on Saturday, March 30th. Charlie had a perfect day winning ALL 4 of his games. #McCrackenProud


Congratulations to the MCHS Winter Guard! They are the 2024 SCGC SRA GOLD MEDALISTS! The McCracken Winter Guard scored 90.6 and beat teams from Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky!

McCracken County HOSA now has four executive council members serving the 2024 - 2025 school year. Jack Aderon received the gavel from Past President Grace Henderson at the State Leadership Conference. HOSA Advisor Andrea Heisner has served several years on the executive council and will serve again this year as Jack’s advisor. Megan Gwinn will join the council for the first time this year as the Past President’s advisor. The Chess Team participated in the Purchase Chess Foundation Women's Open at Paducah Tilghman High School this past Saturday. There was a women's and men's section. In the men's division, Cy Hines came in 1st, Ansh Shah was 3rd, and Charlie Beckner placed 4th. In the women's division Chess Club Sponsor Traci Dossett came in 1st. The Chess Club will host the Jackson Purchase Open this Saturday, March 30. It is a qualifying event for the Kentucky Closed Championship. #McCrackenProud
