Our HOSA members and HEPS Academy students are putting their skills into action by helping restock and replenish the Baptist Health emergency go-bags located throughout MCHS classrooms.
Students will inventory each bag, identify supplies that need to be replaced or added, organize additional materials, and return each fully stocked bag to its assigned classroom.
This project is a great example of career-connected, hands-on learning with a real purpose—giving students valuable experience while also supporting the safety and preparedness of our school community.

Mrs. Atnip’s AP Biology students took learning beyond the textbook with a hands-on lab using mealworms!
Mealworm labs give students the opportunity to explore important biological concepts like animal behavior, responses to environmental stimuli, cellular respiration, and energy dynamics while making observations, collecting data, and thinking like scientists.

Carson is a Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts alum in Musical Theatre and the 2025 KPA Bradley Awards Best Actor in a Leading Role recipient—not to mention an active member of our MCHS Theatre and Vocal Department!
Most recently, Carson represented Kentucky Performing Arts at the Kentucky State Fair, where he kicked off the Kentucky Farm Bureau Ham Breakfast and Auction with a performance of “My Old Kentucky Home.”

This week, students had the opportunity to hear from representatives of the U.S. Army during HERD time and learn more about the career, education, training, and service opportunities available after graduation.
HERD is a great time for our Mustangs to explore the many paths available after high school and begin thinking about what their future could look like.
We appreciate the U.S. Army for spending time with our students and sharing another option for life after MCHS!

Pledge with the Principal!
One of our favorite morning traditions at MCHS is beginning the day with the Pledge of Allegiance alongside Executive Principal Smith. And somewhere along the way, another tradition was born — the “Selfie with Smith”!
We love seeing our Mustangs step up to lead the pledge, and now we want to start sharing some of those selfies with our community!

Ms. Ford’s AP Research students took a hands-on approach to understanding one of the most important parts of the research process: finding the gap.
Students worked together to complete puzzles—but there was a catch… some of the pieces were missing! Just like a missing puzzle piece, a research gap represents something that hasn’t been fully answered, explored, or understood yet.
It was a fun way to turn an abstract research concept into something students could actually see—and a great reminder that sometimes, what’s missing is exactly what you’re looking for!

Together, they donated more than 30 partial rolls of electrical wire, providing hundreds of dollars in savings as our first-year students begin learning electrical connections and building hands-on skills.
Community partnerships like these give our students the opportunity to learn with real materials while preparing for real-world careers. We are incredibly grateful for their support of our students and our growing programs!

Students read articles, watched videos, and put several note-taking strategies into practice, including Cornell Notes, Doodling, Mind-Mapping, and Outlining.
