McCracken County High School student Kaleb Whatley’s banner was chosen from MCHS to represent McCracken County Schools at the 2025 KSBA Annual Conference! 🏫✨ His digital creation, inspired by this year’s theme—“Public Education: Road to Greatness”—will be showcased at the event in Louisville from February 21-23. 🎉 McCracken County High School Seniors Named National Merit Finalists 🎉
Two outstanding McCracken County High School seniors, Eden Bridge-Hayes and Daniel Crouse, have been named National Merit Finalists for the Class of 2025!
“This achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and excellence of our students, their families, and our schools,” said Josh Hunt, Superintendent. “We are extremely proud of Eden and Daniel for earning this recognition.”
The National Merit Scholarship Program is a prestigious academic competition that recognizes less than one percent of high school seniors nationwide. Earning the title of National Merit Finalist places these students among the top academic performers in the country, opening doors to highly competitive college admissions and scholarship opportunities.
To achieve this distinction, finalists undergo a rigorous application process, including outstanding PSAT/NMSQT scores, high academic performance, leadership roles, community service, employment history, and earned awards.
📢 National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in March!

This month, we are honored to celebrate the incredible staff members who make a difference in our school community every day! 💙👏
"I want others to know that Education is a powerful tool that can help break systemic barriers and create opportunities in the Black community. Knowing black history and celebrating heritage is important because it creates pride in one's culture." Nikeesha Kelley
"Nikeesha Kelley is one of those teachers who truly makes a difference in the lives of her students. Over the past two years at Lone Oak Intermediate, she has built strong, trusting relationships with her 4th and 5th graders, always going the extra mile to make sure they feel seen, heard, and supported. Her positivity, flexibility, and teamwork are contagious, and it’s clear that she brings her heart to everything she does. We’re lucky to have her as part of our LOI family—her impact is felt every day, both in and out of the classroom." - Tim Bundren, Principal LOI
