🎉 Twelve MCHS Juniors Recognized for Governor’s Scholars Program! 🎓
McCracken County High School is proud to recognize twelve exceptional juniors who have been selected to attend or named as an alternate for the prestigious 2025 Governor’s Scholars Program!
👏 Congratulations to: Jack Adreon, Conner Campbell, Mikell Fischer, Reagan Hill, Alexandra Leslie, Colin McCurren, Landon Nichols, Clara Pierce, Brooklin Preston, Jack Thompson, Jaiden Walker, and Ella DeHart (alternate).
The Governor’s Scholars Program is a highly competitive five-week summer residential experience designed to cultivate Kentucky’s future leaders. Held at Centre College, Morehead State University, and Murray State University, the program is offered tuition-free to rising seniors who show exceptional academic performance, leadership, and service.
Each year, more than 2,000 students apply, and only around 1,000 are chosen statewide. Selection includes an in-depth application with academic records, extracurricular involvement, teacher and community recommendations, and a personal writing sample.
We are incredibly proud of these students for earning this opportunity through their hard work and commitment. They truly represent the best of MCHS! 🌟

🌾 Lone Oak Middle School FFA Achieves Success at Murray State FFA Field Day 🌾
Lone Oak Middle School proudly had five students compete for the first time at the Murray State FFA Field Day, an event that welcomed over 1,400 students from 94 schools across Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama.
LOMS was the only middle school participating, with all students competing against high school students — and achieving outstanding results! 🎯
• Chloe Poat (6th grade) earned 6th place 🏅 in the Weed ID competition.
• Cale Leonard (8th), Jentry King (8th), Cash Goodwin (7th), and Thomas Jackson (7th) earned 15th place 🔧 in the Small Power Equipment competition.
🎉 Congratulations to these outstanding students for their exceptional performance and for representing Lone Oak Middle School with excellence!
