Houser brings nearly 20 years of experience in education, including leadership roles at Lone Oak High and McCracken County High School. His strong connection to the community and passion for student success make him a great fit for LOMS.

Campus Police Spotlight: Officer Dana Rudd
We are excited to spotlight Officer Dana Rudd for her outstanding contributions as the Campus Police Officer at Lone Oak Elementary!
Since joining McCracken County Schools, Officer Rudd has fully immersed herself in the Lone Oak Elementary community, taking extra time to introduce herself to students, staff, and parents. She is consistently present during key moments of the school day, ensuring safety while building positive relationships. Her proactive approach to school security—improving communication systems, surveillance, and entry/exit procedures—has greatly enhanced the physical safety of the school.
Her kindness and commitment are reflected in the way she interacts with everyone, from students to staff and parents. Officer Rudd goes above and beyond in her role, helping with preschool transitions, assisting with carpool, and even setting up lunch trays for young students. She has built strong relationships with the children, making them feel safe and valued while easing any fears they may have about law enforcement.
Staff members consistently praise her visibility, attentiveness, and dedication, from her support at school events to her regular checks on doors and safety procedures. She truly exemplifies the qualities of an exceptional Campus Police Officer.

McCracken County High School is proud to recognize twelve exceptional juniors who have been selected to attend or named as an alternate for the prestigious 2025 Governor’s Scholars Program!
👏 Congratulations to: Jack Adreon, Conner Campbell, Mikell Fischer, Reagan Hill, Alexandra Leslie, Colin McCurren, Landon Nichols, Clara Pierce, Brooklin Preston, Jack Thompson, Jaiden Walker, and Ella DeHart (alternate).
The Governor’s Scholars Program is a highly competitive five-week summer residential experience designed to cultivate Kentucky’s future leaders. Held at Centre College, Morehead State University, and Murray State University, the program is offered tuition-free to rising seniors who show exceptional academic performance, leadership, and service.
Each year, more than 2,000 students apply, and only around 1,000 are chosen statewide. Selection includes an in-depth application with academic records, extracurricular involvement, teacher and community recommendations, and a personal writing sample.
We are incredibly proud of these students for earning this opportunity through their hard work and commitment. They truly represent the best of MCHS! 🌟

🌾 Lone Oak Middle School FFA Achieves Success at Murray State FFA Field Day 🌾
Lone Oak Middle School proudly had five students compete for the first time at the Murray State FFA Field Day, an event that welcomed over 1,400 students from 94 schools across Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama.
LOMS was the only middle school participating, with all students competing against high school students — and achieving outstanding results! 🎯
• Chloe Poat (6th grade) earned 6th place 🏅 in the Weed ID competition.
• Cale Leonard (8th), Jentry King (8th), Cash Goodwin (7th), and Thomas Jackson (7th) earned 15th place 🔧 in the Small Power Equipment competition.
🎉 Congratulations to these outstanding students for their exceptional performance and for representing Lone Oak Middle School with excellence!
