Please join McCracken County Schools as we honor Black History Month this February. Black history expands beyond one month, but February is a time to reflect on the successes and struggles of Black Americans throughout our history.
We invite you to honor, celebrate, and learn more about Black History Month the next few weeks.
Learn more about this celebration at www.blackhistorymonth.gov.

McCracken County Schools will be in session, on February 19, 2024, and March 15, 2024, to make up two snow days. Our school district missed a total of four days in January due to inclement weather. The 2023-2024 school calendar will be reduced two calendar days so students will not make up the other two snow days. Non-traditional instruction (NTI) days will be used for any additional full school days missed going forward.

With additional snowfall this morning and snow predicted for the next few hours, McCracken County Schools will be closed on Friday, January 19. Friday will be a normal Snow Day.

Due to continued hazardous road conditions, McCracken County Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 18. Thursday will be a normal Snow Day.
Just a reminder that buses don’t just travel major highways, they travel rural roads all over the county. Some of these roads are less traveled and take longer to be safely driven on. Also, the National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Thursday at 10:00 a.m. through Friday at 9:00 a.m. with freezing rain becoming a concern in McCracken County beginning around noon on Thursday. The safety of our students and staff is always our number one concern.

McCracken County Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 17 due to hazardous road conditions. Wednesday will be a normal Snow Day.

Due to hazardous road conditions McCracken County Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 16. Tuesday will be a normal Snow Day.

As winter weather approaches please review our winter weather information.
Reminder- NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 15 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Last week, Disney World welcomed more than 700 families of fallen military heroes to the annual Gary Sinise Foundation “Snowball Express” event where more than 1,800 children and surviving spouses had the opportunity to bond with the only people who can truly understand their loss: one another. Four McCracken County Schools students were in attendance Atleigh Stanley (MCHS), Alaina Stanley (LOI), Nolan Pool (LOI), and Arabella Pool (HLOE). The students went to honor their fathers- Sergeant First Class Derrick Pool, Kentucky Army National Guard, and a Heath High School graduate.
