Please join McCracken County Schools as we honor Black History Month this February. Black history expands beyond one month, but February is a time to reflect on the successes and struggles of Black Americans throughout our history. We invite you to honor, celebrate, and learn more about Black History Month the next few weeks. Learn more about this celebration at www.blackhistorymonth.gov.

McCracken County Schools will be in session, on February 19, 2024, and March 15, 2024, to make up two snow days. Our school district missed a total of four days in January due to inclement weather. The 2023-2024 school calendar will be reduced two calendar days so students will not make up the other two snow days. Non-traditional instruction (NTI) days will be used for any additional full school days missed going forward.

Lone Oak Elementary will be back to a normal school schedule on Tuesday, January 23. The school district will provide bottled water for students and will not prepare food items utilizing tap water. All health and safety protocols will be followed. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding today.

Lone Oak Elementary will be closed Monday, January 22 due to a water main break. Upon arrival this morning school officials discovered a water main break outside the building resulting in no water at LOE. If your students have already been picked up by a bus they will be at Lone Oak Intermediate until 9 a.m. You can pick them up at LOI or a bus will bring them home beginning at 9 a.m.

With additional snowfall this morning and snow predicted for the next few hours, McCracken County Schools will be closed on Friday, January 19. Friday will be a normal Snow Day.
