The Pirate Press - Aug. 10-14
Have a great weekend!
Mr. Cooper
We are so excited to have all of our Pirates back tomorrow for our first day of school! After a lot of work being completed over the last 24 hours, please know that our current school building is safe and will be ready for our students tomorrow morning.
Please read below:
- Our cafeteria and new library are currently under construction, but those areas have been blocked off from students. Therefore, just as we already planned, we will eat in the classrooms until our cafeteria is completed.
- We are awaiting some inspections for our kitchen, so we will be changing our menu for tomorrow and Friday. We will have our breakfast and lunches made in the HMS cafeteria and we will bring those to HES.
- All students will come in the temporary main entrance tomorrow for the first day of school
- Reminder: Per tradition, there will be photo opportunities, red carpet, and music to welcome our Pirates back to school.
We can't wait to see you tomorrow!
Mr. Cooper
Reminder: Back to School Bash is TONIGHT from 5:00-7:00 PM!
Each Pirate and their family will need to check in the the HMS Gym lobby to confirm that online registration, the transportation form, and the meal application form are completed. If its not completed, we have a station for you to complete those before you go meet your child's teacher. Once you are done with those items, you will be given a flyer that shows you all of the booths to visit.
Please DO NOT bring school supplies tonight! We suggest sending all of your child's needed supplies on the first day and wait to send any requested items on Friday.
Finally, please be sure to pay the $30 class fee with your child's homeroom teacher tonight as well.
We can't wait to see you!
Mr. Cooper
Unfortunately, our building is not finished enough for us to host Back to School Back at HES. Therefore, our Back to School Bash will now take place at Heath Middle School Gym.
This will give students to opportunity to meet their teacher and for you all to visit all of the additional booths as well.
We ask that you not bring school supplies to Back to School Bash as we will not be able to transport over 500 student's supplies back to HES.
I really wish we could have all of our Pirates and their families see the classrooms and the updates tomorrow night, but unfortunately the school is not ready.
We are so excited to see our Pirates between 5:00-7:00 tomorrow at Heath Middle School Gym!
Mr. Cooper

We have had some very large storage containers that were delivered this morning and they are now blocking the end of our parade route and location for Kona Ice. Therefore, we are going to make a change to our original plan. 5th Grade will parade through the school for their "last time." If you are able to attend, we ask that all parents/guardians line up at the main entrance doors, as you will be the end of our parade. We are encouraging our 5th graders to hug and thank their parents as they find you. From there, we will all walk to the Kona Ice truck and then make our way to the soccer field.
We are so excited to celebrate our 5th grade Pirates today, so we hope you are able to join us!
