McCracken County Schools will operate on a one-hour delay on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, to allow additional time for safe travel. Buses will run one hour later than usual, and there will be no morning preschool. Afternoon preschool will continue as scheduled. Grab and go breakfast will be available at all schools.

Lone Oak Elementary second graders wrapped up a week of learning about extreme weather in the coolest way possible — with a special story time and Q&A session led by WPSD’s Chief Meteorologist, Trent Okerson!

They asked amazing questions, learned all about storms, and even got some insider weather tips from a real expert. ⛈️🌈

Congratulations to Aiden Armstrong, the first student from McCracken County High School to be selected for the KMEA All-State Orchestra!

Aiden has studied violin privately since 7th grade, served as first chair in the Paducah Symphony All-District Honor Orchestra, participated in marching band for three years, and balances all of this with working HVAC during school breaks. His dedication, talent, and hard work make him a true standout in our district!

From August 18–September 30, every CFSB Discover Debit transaction generated a $1 donation to support School Resource Centers across our region—and we’re grateful for the impact right here in McCracken County.

🎶 McCracken County Schools were well represented at the annual KMEA First District Honor Choir at Murray State University! Out of 392 talented students selected from grades 5-8, 103 of them were from McCracken County.

🏫✨ State Representative Randy Bridges Visits McCracken County High School!

State Representative Randy Bridges spent some time at McCracken County High School as part of the Principal for a Day program!

“Principal for a Day” is a statewide initiative organized by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) that allows legislators and community leaders to shadow a school principal and gain a firsthand look at school operations and the challenges of educational leadership. Created through House Concurrent Resolution 25, the program helps strengthen understanding and support for Kentucky’s public schools.
