McCracken County High School’s Academy Model is designed to create smaller, more personalized learning communities where students are known, supported, and engaged. Beginning with the Freshman Academy—established in 2024—and expanding to full implementation of the academy model in the 2026–2027 school year, students will progress through specialized academies that align with their interests and future goals. Throughout this experience, students build strong relationships with teachers and peers while exploring career pathways. The model combines a flexible block schedule, real-world learning experiences, and opportunities for dual credit and industry certifications to help students prepare for life after high school. Reidland Middle School is so proud of Leah Olson for being selected to perform in the highest honor band in our state, the Kentucky All-State Middle School Symphonic Band!
Leah was chosen by music professionals based on her recorded audition as a top performer from around 1,000 other recorded submissions. Leah will travel to Richmond in March to rehearse, collaborate, and perform with 200 of their peers from all across the Commonwealth.
