Amanda Irvan

McCracken County Public Schools is pleased to announce that Amanda Irvan has been named an Assistant Principal at McCracken County High School.

Irvan brings more than two decades of experience in education and educational leadership to the role. She currently serves as principal of Lyon County Middle School, where she has led efforts to increase student achievement, expand extracurricular and career pathway opportunities, and foster a positive school culture focused on student success.

Prior to her time in Lyon County, Irvan served as principal and assistant principal at Crittenden County High School. During her tenure, she helped expand career and technical education opportunities, implemented innovative learning experiences, and worked collaboratively with staff and community partners to strengthen pathways for students beyond high school. Earlier in her career, she taught English, drama, arts and humanities, and served in various leadership roles at Trigg County High School.

Irvan earned a Master of Arts in Education with Principal Administration certification and a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Murray State University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English Literature with a minor in Educational Studies.

"We are excited to welcome Mrs. Irvan to McCracken County High School," said MCHS Principal Jonathan Smith. "Her extensive leadership experience at both the middle and high school levels, combined with her passion for helping students succeed, makes her an excellent addition to our administrative team. Amanda understands the importance of building relationships and creating opportunities that help every student thrive."

Irvan said she is eager to join the Mustang community and support students as they prepare for life after graduation.

"I am excited to join the staff of McCracken County High School and become part of a school community with a strong commitment to student success," Irvan said. "Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping students discover their unique paths to success. The innovative changes at MCHS present an exciting opportunity to connect students' interests and talents with meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for their future goals. I look forward to working alongside students, staff, families, and community partners to ensure every student feels supported, challenged, and equipped for success beyond high school."
