Local high school golf teams and individuals keep making statements on golf courses across Kentucky. While first days of school will be popping up over the next few days and weeks, high school golf teams are deep into their 2026 seasons.
One of the most recent local successes came Monday afternoon from McCracken County’s Harper Hunt who sank her first hole-in-one while competing in the Greenwood Lady Gator Invitational. She holed out on hole 11 as part of her 11-over-par 83 performance for a T11 finish.
For the McCracken County boys, after a win in the Ballard Memorial Invitational on Saturday, the Mustangs were up to seven teams wins on the year with nearly each of their top five guys earning individual wins. Saturday was Brently Gregory’s turn, shooting a 4-under-par 68 to help lead his team to a 4-under-par 284.
Before that, they won the Daviess County Invitational with a team score of 292 where Peyton Courtney and Cooper Webb paced the Mustangs each shooting 72’s.
The Mustangs faced their first real test on Monday however, in the Greenwood Gator Boys Invitational at Bowling Green Country Club. They were handed their first non-win of the season, finishing sixth as a team at +21. Evan Hack finished solo seventh as an individual, shooting an even par 72.
