Tennis season has come to a close for the McCracken County Lady Mustangs and Mustangs as both teams fell Thursday in the KHSAA State tournament from Lexington.
The Lady Mustangs advanced past the first round of action, defeating Clay County in a clean sweep, 3-0. Set went as follows: 6-1, 6-1/ 6-3, 6-0 and 6-3.
They would face their end in the quarterfinals later in the afternoon, falling to Sacred Heart, 3-0.
For the boys, they wouldn’t quite make it as far, falling 3-1 to Lexington Catholic in the first round of action Thursday morning.
With their state tournament appearances, the McCracken County tennis teams continue their longstanding status in Lexington dating back to the Lone Oak days.
