With a 14-0 win over Community Christian Academy Tuesday night, the McCracken County Mustangs improve to a 12-5 record on the season.

The win also marks the first win for McCracken in Second District play, a record they hope to only build upon as they take on Paducah Tilghman twice next week.

McCracken took advantage of their 23-man roster by getting 18 Mustangs appearances at the plate and putting four different guys on the mound. Among those 23 Mustangs who took the plate, the team tallied 10 hits and were walked six other times while suffering just three strikeouts.

Out of those performances, Grant Vinyard and Kendrick Dunning connected for doubles, while Caden Kern and Lucas Gagnon each hit triples.

From the mound, all four Mustangs collected strikeouts with Ethan Atkison securing four while allowing the lone CCA hit of the night and walking one as well. Atkison also earned the win with two innings pitched, his third win of the season.

Owen Aldridge made his first varsity appearance on the mound with an inning where he dealt out two strikeouts and a walk, Gage Dugan grabbed three more strikeouts and two walks, Gage Reeves also made his first pitching appearance, serving a strikeout against three batters faced.

The lone hit from the Warriors was successful, courtesy of a fly ball single to left field from Tanner Moseley.

McCracken County is just getting their week started as they are two games into a six-game week after an already busy week previous on the road. Coach Hobbs believes keeping his team busy and playing top-notch talent is what helps prepare them for postseason baseball. Their week will continue with a meeting against Graves County on Thursday before hosting Triad, Illinois, Apollo and Edwardsville, IL over the weekend.

For Community Christian Academy, the Warriors fall to 10-5 on the season and will host South Fulton, TN on Friday.
