The 2026 Paducah Sun Girls All-Purchase team is once again full of top-notch talent to nobody’s surprise. First Region girls basketball coaches and local media members were asked to participate in voting on who they believed to be the top 10 players in the First Region. The only stipulations for coaches was they couldn’t vote for any of the players on their team.
Ava Hughes — McCracken County, Sophomore
The youngest to make the team this far is McCracken County sophomore Ava Hughes. The guard has been the nucleus for the Lady Mustangs the past two seasons as she tallied 418 points this season and was the lone Lady Mustang to average double figures at 12.3ppg.
Hughes led the Lady Mustangs to a 26-9 season that featured a 10-game winning streak through the heart of the season. Heading into just her junior year, Ava is bound to be on All-Purchase teams down the road is she stays on this trajectory.
