The McCracken County boys’ golf team capped off a stellar weekend with a third-place finish at the All-State Golf Tournament, hosted Sept. 13-14 by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association at the University Club in Lexington. The exclusive invite-only event featured the top 15 teams from across the state, and the Mustangs proved they belong among Kentucky’s elite.

After a rough start Saturday on the Big Blue course, McCracken sat tied for seventh with a team score of 304. Evan Hack and Jack Farmery each carded 75, Landon Hunt shot 76, Jack Conway 78, and Tanner Kight 80.

On Sunday, however, the Mustangs stormed back on the Wildcat course with their best collective round of the season. Kight bounced back in dramatic fashion with a 65 (-6), Hunt followed with a 67 (-4), while Farmery and Hack each posted steady 72s (+1). Conway added a 73 to round out the day. Their 276 team score (-8) not only secured third place but also stood as the lowest round recorded by any team on Sunday.

The performance marked a sharp turnaround for Kight (80-65) and Hunt (76-67), showcasing resilience under pressure. McCracken finished behind only champion St. Xavier and runner-up Madison Central.
