Congratulations to the Lone Oak Intermediate K–5 Chess Team! ♟️🏆

The Lone Oak Intermediate K–5 Chess Team proudly placed 1st overall at the 2026 Kentucky State Quad A Regional Chess Tournament, held Saturday, February 7, at McCracken County High School.

The LOI team earned the championship title with a combined total of 12 points, calculated from the top four scorers on the team: Jacob Gholson, Brickston Branch, Caden Huang, and Zackary Wright.

With this incredible team effort, the LOI Chess Team will represent the Quad A Region at the Kentucky State Chess Tournament in mid-March.
