Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to inform you of an important change affecting the Heath Middle School 21st Century after-school program. Effective Monday, December 8th, district transportation will not be available to take students home after the program. This cancellation will remain in place until further notice.
We understand that this may cause inconvenience for families, and we sincerely apologize for the disruption. At this time, we ask that you please make arrangements for your child to be picked up promptly at the end of the program each day at 4:30 pm in the cafeteria parking lot located behind HMS if they are staying for programming.
We are working closely with district leadership and transportation services to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. As soon as transportation can be reinstated, we will notify families right away.
Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support of the 21st Century program. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email: jared.henson@mccracken.kyschools.us

Happy Friday!
Shout-out to everyone for surviving five straight days of school right off the bat! If we can make it this week, we can make it every week!
We are excited for another great year in the Pirates Beyond the Bell 21st CCLC After School Program! As a reminder, after-school programming will start on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.
As of right now, the Transportation Department is still looking to find drivers for our after-school program. We hope that in the following weeks, we will have confirmation to provide transportation home. To help us plan along with transportation, we need to know if your student(s) will need to ride the bus home if bus service is available for the program. Please take a few moments to complete the form linked below.

Good Evening!
Heath Middle School is sponsoring a FREE, two-week Game of Life Summer Program. This program is for any incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students at Heath Middle School. Dates for the camp are June 2nd- June 5th, 2025 (Monday-Thursday) and June 9th-12th (Monday-Thursday) from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (with transportation included). Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day at no cost. During the Game of Life, programming students will explore career opportunities and post-secondary schooling options that offer their career pathway. Students will also develop budgeting skills and learn that the life we want for ourselves is something we have to work towards, and what better time to start than now! We have a limited number of spaces and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
1. Students can be dropped off around the back of the main building in the cafeteria parking lot starting at 8:00 am. If your child is not riding the bus home, please be at HMS at 11:45 to pick your child up. Pick-up will be in the same location as the morning drop-off. (If you have never dropped off a student, the parking lot is located behind the main building. To get to it, you will need to drive alongside the gymnasium, toward the football field. You will follow the road to the left and should see the cafeteria.)
2. Students will need to be at camp by 8:10 am.
3. If your child takes medication daily or becomes ill and needs medication during summer camp, you must sign a medication log. Children who are concerned to be contagious are not allowed at Summer Camp. If your child becomes ill after arriving at camp, we will contact you or an emergency contact from the enrollment form that you completed.
4. We may spend time in the sun before lunch, so please feel free to send sunscreen with your student. We will do our best to remind and assist your child in re-applying during the day. Your child is more than welcome to bring spray-on sunscreen to camp. McCracken Co. Schools and the H.M.S. staff are not responsible for sunburns.
5. The McCracken County Public Schools Transportation Department should be making phone calls this weekend about what time to expect the bus. In the past, bus drivers have not made phone calls about times until the Sunday afternoon before the start of camp.
We are super excited about summer camp and know your child will have a fantastic time. Please use this link to register your student →
