All McCracken County Public Schools preschool sites have earned a 5-star rating through the Kentucky Department of Education’s Kentucky All STARS program—the highest quality designation available for state-funded preschool programs in Kentucky.
McCracken County Public Schools offers preschool programs at each of its elementary schools: Concord Elementary, Heath Elementary, Hendron–Lone Oak Elementary, Lone Oak Elementary and Reidland Elementary.
Kentucky All STARS is the Commonwealth’s Quality Rating and Improvement System for early care and education programs. The program evaluates multiple indicators of quality, including classroom instruction, staff qualifications and professional development, administrative and leadership practices, learning environments, and family and community engagement.
A 5-star rating signifies that a preschool program has met the highest standards of quality established by the Kentucky Department of Education.
“We are incredibly proud that every preschool site in McCracken County Public Schools has earned this distinction,” Superintendent Josh Hunt said. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our preschool teachers, instructional assistants, therapists, administrators and support staff. Their commitment ensures our youngest learners receive the strong foundation they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.”
The district’s preschool program provides young children with engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences designed to support their academic, social-emotional and physical development. Staff members also work closely with families to help children build the skills and confidence needed for a successful transition to kindergarten.
“High-quality early childhood education can make a lasting difference in a child’s life,” Hunt said. “Earning the highest possible rating at every location demonstrates our districtwide commitment to excellence and to creating welcoming, supportive learning environments for every child.”
