McCracken County Public Schools is pleased to announce Sheri Tilford as a new assistant principal at McCracken County High School. Tilford will serve as principal of the Academy of Agriculture, Engineering, and Skilled Trades.
Tilford brings 15 years of experience serving students and families in McCracken County Public Schools. Since 2010, she has served as a mathematics teacher and teacher leader at Heath Middle School, where she has helped lead instructional improvement, facilitate professional learning communities, mentor teachers and strengthen curriculum alignment.
She has also served as a content coordinator for the Access to Algebra grant, working alongside district administrators, instructional coaches and teachers to align mathematics instruction with state standards and improve students’ access to and success in algebra. Her leadership experience also includes serving on Heath Middle School’s PBIS and School-Based Decision Making councils and participating in the McCracken County Schools Leadership Cohort.
“After 15 dedicated years serving students and families in McCracken County Public Schools, I am deeply honored to step into the role of principal of the Academy of Agriculture, Engineering, and Skilled Trades at McCracken County High School,” Tilford said. “I look forward to building on our strong community connections and helping our students connect their passions to real-world success.”
Tilford earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education with endorsements in mathematics and science and a master’s degree in teacher leadership from Murray State University. She also holds an Education Specialist degree in principal leadership for grades P-12 from the University of the Cumberlands.
Throughout her career, Tilford has supported students through numerous extracurricular roles, including coaching basketball and softball at the middle and high school levels, working with the 21st Century Community Learning Center program and serving as an FCA Huddle Leader.
