On behalf of our students, faculty, and staff, we’re excited to share that Pilot’s newly renovated travel center located on Cairo Road has generously donated a grant of $10,000 to McCracken County Public Schools Preschool Program.
Through Pilot's unwavering support of education, these funds will support our growing Preschool program, helping us inspire and empower our students early for the future.
The McCracken County School District currently serves 301 three- and four-year-old students across our 10 Preschool classrooms. This number is set to increase by 51 students at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year, with 49% receiving special education services. Our preschool classrooms have had a high need for sensory materials to support the diverse developmental needs of our students. Sensory materials are a critical component of early childhood education. They stimulate a child's senses through touch, sight, sound, smell, and movement through exploration and play. These hands-on experiences help students foster a deeper understanding of the world around them.
This funding through the Pilot Travel “Miles for Good” will ensure that every child—regardless of ability or background—has the opportunity to explore, discover, and grow through meaningful sensory experiences that enhance their educational journey and better serve the social-emotional literacy needs of our students. We hope to continue to create a rich, inclusive learning environment that meet the needs of all learners.
