McCracken County Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Matt Dobson as the district’s new Director of Personnel, effective July 1.
Dobson brings more than 20 years of experience in education and school leadership to the role. He currently serves as principal of the McCracken County Alternative Program, where he oversees McCracken County Alternative School, Open Campus, and McCracken Regional School.
Prior to his current role, Dobson served as an Assistant Principal at McCracken County High School for nearly nine years, where he provided instructional leadership, supported student services, and worked closely with teachers, counselors, and families to promote student success. His experience also includes serving as principal of Lone Oak Intermediate School and Academy Principal at Graves County High School.
Throughout his career, Dobson has been recognized for his leadership, relationship-building skills, and commitment to supporting students and staff. His work has included overseeing professional development, improving school culture, managing student discipline, and collaborating with educators to strengthen instruction and student achievement.
“Mr. Dobson has a strong understanding of the importance of supporting and developing great people across our district,” Superintendent Josh Hunt said. “He has built positive relationships with staff throughout his career and brings valuable leadership experience that will serve our employees and schools well in this role.”
Dobson said he is excited for the opportunity to continue serving the district while supporting employees across McCracken County Schools.
“I’m honored for the opportunity to serve as Director of Personnel,” Dobson said. “I look forward to working closely with our administrators, teachers, and staff to continue building a positive culture that supports both our employees and our students.”
Dobson earned his degrees from Murray State University and holds multiple administrative endorsements, including Principal, Director of Instruction, and Director of Pupil Personnel certifications.
