Anne Cox

McCracken County Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Anne Cox as the new principal of Reidland Middle School, effective July 1.

Cox brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership, instruction, and student support to her new role. She currently serves as a Regional Principal Support Leader with the Kentucky Department of Education and previously served as principal of Reidland Elementary School from 2018 to 2025. Under her leadership, Reidland Elementary earned numerous recognitions, including being named a National ESEA Distinguished School and receiving the Family Friendly School designation at the Gold Level.

Cox also has prior experience at Reidland Middle School, where she served as assistant principal and a library media specialist/curriculum specialist. Her deep roots within the Reidland community, combined with her extensive leadership background, position her well to lead the school forward.

“I’m honored and excited to lead Greyhound Nation as the principal of Reidland Middle School!” said Cox. “Reidland is more than a school community to me—it’s home. Four generations of my family have attended or graduated from Reidland schools, and because I also live and worship in this community, its success is deeply personal to me. I look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students and sharing the many outstanding opportunities available at RMS!”

Superintendent Josh Hunt praised Cox’s leadership and connection to the community. “Anne Cox is an exceptional leader with a deep commitment to students, staff, and families. Her experience, combined with her strong ties to the Reidland community, make her the right choice to lead Reidland Middle School.”

As part of this transition, current Reidland Middle School principal Lori Hyde will become the principal at Lone Oak Intermediate School, also effective July 1.
