Most recently, Story has served as a State Literacy Coach with the Kentucky Department of Education. In this role, she has worked with schools across the state to strengthen literacy instruction, support teachers through coaching and professional development, and use data to drive student achievement.

“I am incredibly excited and honored to serve as the next principal of Lone Oak Elementary School,” said Story. “It is a privilege to lead such a high-performing school with a strong tradition of excellence. My goal each day is to build on that foundation by supporting our staff and ensuring every student reaches their fullest potential. I firmly believe that every child should be taught as if they carried my last name—meaning each student deserves the very best opportunities, care, and commitment we would give our own. I am committed to giving my all to ensure every child receives the best education possible and that Lone Oak Elementary is a place where staff, students, and families feel excited to come each day and proud to call their school. I look forward to meeting our Lone Oak families and building strong, lasting relationships within the community.”
“Mrs. Story is a dedicated leader with a proven track record of improving student outcomes and supporting teachers,” said McCracken County Public Schools Superintendent Josh Hunt. “Her experience as both a principal and a state-level literacy leader make her the right person to lead Lone Oak Elementary forward. We are excited to welcome her to this role and look forward to the continued success of Lone Oak Elementary.”
