McCracken County Public Schools is excited to announce the appointment of Misty Koinis as the new Assistant Principal at Lone Oak Elementary School, effective for the 2025–2026 school year.
Mrs. Koinis brings more than a decade of experience in education, having served the past 13 years at Reidland Middle School as a teacher, mentor, and instructional leader. Known for her data-driven approach, inclusive mindset, and commitment to student success, she has made a lasting impact through her work in behavior support, and professional development.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Misty Koinis to the Lone Oak Elementary family as our new Assistant Principal,” said Jennifer Scism, Principal of Lone Oak Elementary. “She brings with her a strong foundation of academic knowledge, enthusiasm, and a passion for student success. Her leadership will be an asset as we continue our tradition of excellence as a National Blue Ribbon School.”
Koinis has served in multiple leadership roles, including PBIS Data Analyst, grade-level team lead, and representative on the Superintendent Advisory Group and District Culture and Climate Committee. Her work has focused on fostering positive school environments, improving student outcomes, and promoting equity and accessibility for all learners.
She holds a Bachelor of Middle School Education (Grades 5–9) with concentrations in Math and Social Studies from Murray State University, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands, and a Master of Education in School Administration (Supervisor of Instruction) from Murray State University.
