Jennifer Hunter

McCracken County Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Hunter as Assistant Principal at McCracken County High School (MCHS) beginning in the 2025–2026 school year. With nearly two decades of experience in education and a strong commitment to student success, Hunter brings deep knowledge, passion, and leadership to her new role.

Hunter has served as a school counselor at MCHS since 2016, where she has supported students academically, socially, and emotionally. Hunter has also served as the building’s AP Coordinator, managed scheduling, coordinated testing, and contributed significantly to college and career readiness efforts.

Before her counseling role, Hunter taught high school social studies at Graves County High School from 2004 to 2016.

She holds multiple degrees from Murray State University, including a Rank I and Master of Arts in School Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in High School Social Studies Education. She is currently working to complete the School Principal Level 2 Certification program.

MCHS Principal Jonathan Smith expressed his enthusiasm for the announcement:
“Mrs. Hunter will bring invaluable knowledge to the position through her role as counselor in our building, member of SBDM, and insights she has of the academy model and scheduling. She will be a great member of our team moving forward.”

As MCHS prepares to transition to an Academy Model School through the Ford Next Generation Learning (NGL)initiative, Hunter will play a key role in helping lead that transformation.

Jennifer Hunter shared her excitement about the new position:
“I am excited about this next role in my educational career! The opportunity to work as an assistant at MCHS with the leadership team we have established is an honor, and I look forward to being part of the transition to the Ford NGL Academy Model.”

Please join us in congratulating Jennifer Hunter on her appointment as Assistant Principal at McCracken County High School.
