McCracken County Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Kayla Myers as the District Foundation Liaison. In this role, Myers will help re-establish and grow the McCracken County Schools Foundation, with a focus on creating opportunities that support students, staff, and schools across the district.
Myers brings a diverse and impactful background in nonprofit development, fundraising, and communications. Most recently, she served as the Director of Community Engagement at Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center, where she led strategic initiatives in marketing, donor relations, event planning, and volunteer coordination. During her tenure, Myers successfully expanded the agency’s community partnerships, strengthened its brand presence, and increased private donor contributions year-over-year.
Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, Myers held roles in marketing and media, including as an account manager and content strategist for Innovations Branding House and as Chief Copy Editor for The Murray State News. Her combined experience showcases her ability to manage projects from concept to completion, build lasting relationships, and execute successful fundraising and awareness campaigns.
“Kayla’s heart for community, coupled with her strategic mindset and proven fundraising success, make her an ideal fit to lead the revitalization of the McCracken County Schools Foundation,” said Assistant Superintendent Johnna DeJarnett. “Her energy and vision align perfectly with the district’s mission to support the whole child and ensure every student has access to exceptional opportunities.”
Myers holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Rhetoric from Murray State University. A dedicated community leader, she has served as president and committee chair within Paducah Professional Women and was honored with the organization’s 2023 “Leader of the Year” award.
“I believe deeply in our collective responsibility to care for one another and invest in our young people,” said Myers. “This role offers the unique opportunity to build a foundation—literally and figuratively—that supports the students, teachers, and families of McCracken County. I’m honored to serve in this capacity and excited for what we can accomplish together.”
The McCracken County Schools Foundation, originally established to support educational advancement and innovation, is being restructured with a renewed focus on donor engagement and student-centered initiatives. Myers will work closely with district leadership and community stakeholders to shape the Foundation’s long-term impact.
