CHA 2025

McCracken County High School Students Selected for Prestigious Commonwealth Honors Academy

McCracken County High School is proud to announce that eight MCHS juniors have been recognized for their academic excellence and selected for the Commonwealth Honors Academy (CHA) at Murray State University.

Six students — MaKenzie Burgett, Isabella Maxfield, Landon Nichols, Madilyn Shelby, Calyssa Stallings, and Conner Campbell— have been officially selected to attend the academy this summer. Additionally, Isaac Arant and Alexandra Leslie were named as alternates and may be invited to attend if additional spots become available.

The Commonwealth Honors Academy is a selective, three-week residential summer program designed to promote academic, personal, and social growth. Open to outstanding high school juniors from Kentucky and surrounding states, the academy admits only 120 students each year. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and a composite ACT score of 25 or higher.

CHA participants engage in a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum, including a humanities/fine arts course, an elective course aligned with their interests, and seminar sessions centered around an annual theme that promotes learning beyond the classroom. Students who complete the program earn 6 hours of university credit and receive a four-year full tuition scholarship to Murray State University.

McCracken County High School celebrates the achievements of these students and applauds their dedication, intellectual curiosity, and leadership. We look forward to the continued success of these exceptional young scholars.
