The McCracken County School District is proud to announce the appointment of Wes Newsome as the new Principal of Concord Elementary School, effective July 1, 2025.
Mr. Newsome is a seasoned educator with a strong background in instructional leadership, student support, and school culture transformation. In his current role as Assistant Principal and Dean of Students at Paducah Middle School, he has played a vital role in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for students and staff alike.
“Wes Newsome is a student-centered leader who brings both passion and purpose to everything he does,” said Josh Hunt, Superintendent of McCracken County Schools. “We’re excited to welcome him to Concord Elementary and confident he will inspire growth, connection, and continued excellence within the school community.”
Throughout his career, Mr. Newsome has restructured programs such as Leader in Me, PBIS, and the Ron Clark House System to improve school culture and climate. He has also implemented weekly assessment systems that contributed to measurable academic growth. As an educator, coach, and leader, he is deeply committed to equity, student achievement, and social-emotional learning.
Mr. Newsome’s previous roles include District Instructional Coach for Paducah Public Schools, ESL teacher at Paducah Tilghman High School, and Spanish teacher at Dayton High School.
He holds a Bachelor's degree from Murray State University, a Master's from Northern Kentucky University, and an Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands.
