Guill Named Law Enforcement Supervisor For McCracken County Schools

Austin Guill named Law Enforcement Supervisor for McCracken County Schools.

Guill served seven years as a police officer with the Paducah Police Department and four years with the Murray State University Police Department. He has been with McCracken County Schools for one year as a school resource officer at McCracken County High School.

“Since becoming a certified DARE instructor in 2015, I have maintained a passion for working with students in an educational environment.  My recent roles as a Murray State University Police Department Campus Officer and McCracken County School Resource Officer have further enhanced that passion.  I am looking forward to guiding our McCracken County Schools resource officers as we build relationships with students, positively engage with our school community, and provide a safe learning environment for all,” said Guill.

McCracken County Schools employ seven school resource officers (SRO) and one supervisor. Each SRO is a sworn police officer and a graduate of the Department of Criminal Justice police academy. These officers receive annual training through the DOCJT. McCracken County SROs cover every school in the county and are responsible for enforcing all local, state, and federal laws.

Bruce Watson, former Law Enforcement Supervisor, retired this month after 21 years with McCracken County Schools.
