A recent change to state statutes allows for the creation of school-based law enforcement agencies which operate under the authority of the Board of Education. Today, our McCracken County School Resource Officers were sworn-in by Attorney David Riley to establish this new type of agency. Our officers now possess expanded jurisdiction and investigative powers which will directly benefit the school district and assist our other local law enforcement agencies. The role and daily operations of district School Resource Officers will remain unchanged.
