Stacy Thomas has been named the Community Outreach and Diversity Coordinator for McCracken County Public Schools.
Thomas has been the Mustangs Youth Services Center Coordinator at McCracken County High School (MCHS) since 2013. Before coming to MCHS she worked at the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce as the Business/Education & Leadership Director.
“I am excited about this opportunity and what a position like this can do for our school district & our community as a whole,” said Thomas. “I am so honored to be apart in helping to create a culture of diversity, inclusion and equity at McCracken County Public Schools.”
Thomas will help recruit diverse faculty and staff to the district, be a resource for faculty members and departments in developing and creating diversity-minded curriculum, act as a liaison to and develop strong relationships with various diversity and inclusion-related groups in the schools, and respond to diversity- and equity-related issues among the student body as they arise.
"McCracken County Public Schools is committed to meeting the needs of all students,” said Steve Carter, Superintendent. “Stacy brings a combination of rich leadership experience and passion to this position.”
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Organizational Communication from Murray State University.
