To celebrate “National Family Week” the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Club (FCCLA) at McCracken County High School focused on the special benefits of pet ownership and partnered with the McCracken County Humane Society.
FCCLA donated student-made chew toys and dog treats to the Humane Society. They also raised money to buy dog beds.
MCHS foods and nutrition classes made pumpkin oatmeal dog treats, which consisted of pumpkin, oatmeal, and two eggs. Nearly 100 students made the treats, totaling 500 treats.
Students also made chew toys for the dogs out of strips of material woven together like a rope. The classes made 250 chew toys.
