Science - Kelly Chiles

This is Mrs. Chiles's sixth year at Reidland Middle, and she looks forward to a year filled with unlimited learning experiences and fun. She graduated from Murray State in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science (OSH). She and  her husband moved to Florida for several years, eventually moving back to Marshall County to be closer to their families. She and her husband then made the decision for her to stay at home for awhile with their boys. "They are only little once!" exclaimed Mrs. Chiles. During that time, she re-evaluated her priorities and made the decision to return to Murray State and pursue another bachelors, that time in education. She never knew that she could be so passionate about something. Mrs. Chiles feels extremely blessed to be here and to share this year with you and your child.

Social Studies - Levi Sanders

Mr. Sanders is beginning his fourth year at RMS, teaching sixth grade Social Studies. He graduated from Marshall County High School in 2012 and went on to attend Lindsey Wilson College, where he was a full time student athlete playing football. He earned his Bachelors degree in History/Social Science Education from LWC in 2016. Mr. Sanders also coaches middle school football for McCracken County, and he is the 7th and 8th grade Boys Basketball Coach here at Reidland Middle. Mr. Sanders and his beautiful wife, Christy, just married in December of 2016. They have a cat named Marie and a basset hound named Mable that keep them entertained. Mr. Sanders' free time consists of hunting, fishing, Dallas Cowboys football, and his vegetable garden. He is excited for another year with an awesome group of students here at RMS!

Reading - Shawn Barber

Mrs. Barber is beginning her nineteenth year of teaching. Prior to coming to Reidland Middle School, she worked in Graves County Schools and Fulton County Schools. Mrs. Barber received her undergraduate and first Master's Degree at Murray State University. Her second Master's Degree and her Specialist's degree were earned from University of the Cumberlands.

Mrs. Barber has lived in Kentucky for twenty-three years, but she is originally from northern Indiana. When she is not working, her world consists of being the mother of three beautiful children and grandmother of two grandchildren. When she is not busy with her kids, she enjoys reading, walking, cooking and crocheting.

Writing - Matthew Rickman

Though he has been a classified employee in the district for several years, Mr. Rickman is beginning his teaching career at RMS this year.  He earned his bachelor's degree at Murray State in 2019, with a focus in teaching both social studies and English/language arts. Mr. Rickman completed his student teaching at Reidland Middle School, where we saw in him a sacrificial work ethic and a desire to help motivate students to find their own excellence. A reader himself, Rickman says the Harry Potter series is his favorite or anything written by Michael Crichton. We are excited to have Mr. Rickman in sixth grade!

This school year, she is teaching 6th grade Math, 6th grade Honors Math, and Pre-Algebra. She graduated from Heath High School in 2008 and graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College, in Owensboro, KY in 2012. Mrs. Quimby has a degree in Middle School Math and Special Education. She also played college golf while attending Kentucky Wesleyan. She graduated with a Master’s degree from the University of Cumberland’s in 2017. Mrs. Quimby and her husband have been married for seven years and have a wonderful six-year-old little girl that keeps them on their toes. She also directs the MathCounts Team for RMS. She looks forward to an awesome year with an outstanding set of students and faculty members.
