Board sets high school graduation date of May 27
This year’s graduation ceremony for McCracken County High School is set for Friday, May 27, at Marquette Stadium. The commencement ceremony will take place inside the Strawberry Hills Pharmacy Arena in the case of inclement weather.

Board member Steve Shelby to serve on Student Code of Conduct Committee

The Board appointed Steve Shelby to serve on the Student Code of Conduct Committee. According to Kentucky statute, each local board of education is responsible for formulating a code of acceptable behavior and discipline to apply to each school.

Documents approved for renovation work to Heath Middle School

The Board approved sending BG-4 and BG-5 documents that will help secure financing for mold remediation work done at Heath Middle School last summer. The district must submit the documents to the Division of Facilities Management.

Permission to accept proposals for renovation work given to several school projects

The district will take a look at proposals for renovation work at several schools after the Board voted Thursday to accept bids. The following projects consist of mechanical, plumbing, electrical and architectural work:
· A sally port entrance at Lone Oak Intermediate School, as well as an HVAC replacement in the school’s gym.
· A new handicapped-accessible ramp in the gym at Lone Oak Middle School.
· A cooling tower replacement at Heath Middle School.
· Sump tank replacement at Concord Elementary School and Heath Middle School.

Permission to accept proposals for architectural and engineering services given to intermediate schools
The district is looking for proposals for architectural and engineering services at Lone Oak Intermediate and the not-yet-opened Heath Intermediate School. The former Heath Middle School building needs renovation work before it can house Heath Intermediate School. The proposals will also address renovations at Lone Oak Intermediate, and will consider the possibility of constructing a new Lone Oak Intermediate School building, if funding is feasible.
