McCracken County High School Artists Excel


On Sunday, March 11, 2018, the KYAEA Regional Exhibition closed with an award ceremony at Murray State University. Thirty-nine McCracken County artists had over 40 works selected by MSU faculty to be displayed. Many MCHS students won awards for their art.

Anna Taylor won the 2D Best of Show Award.
Macy Kendall won First Place in the Painting Category and Julian Adams won Third.
In Mixed Media, Emma Gresham won First Place and Sarah Moore won Second.
Olivia Yocum won Second Place in Printmaking.
Molly Thomas won First Place in Graphic Design
Samira Koehler won First Place in Fashion Design
Abbi Farmer won First Place in Fiber Arts and Textiles.
Bryce Willoughby won First Place in Sculpture.
Grace Travis won Second Place and Julian Adams won Third in Ceramics.
In Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Alex Edwards-Bachuss won First, Julian Adams won Second, and  Sydney Carrol won Third.
Samantha Harlan won First Place in Photography.
In the Digital Art Category, Katie Moss won Second Place.

Twelve of these students, whose names are highlighted, have work that will go on to compete at the state level in April.

2018 High School All-State Competition is April 8-22, at The Hellman Creative Center in Covington KY. The show closes with an Awards & Reception on April 22 at 11 am.
