We are now half way through out second week of school and I am loving my time at LOI!  I know all the students are feeling the exact same way!  I wanted to take the opporunity to answer a few more questions that you might have, that I have been able to observe during our first few days!

Q: Why is there traffic backed up on the road at 6:55?

A: We open our doors to let students in at 6:55.  Parents arrive before this time in anticipation and often by 6:55 cars have wrapped around the gym and into the road.  Here are a couple of tips to avoid this traffic and congestion:

1) Arrive 5 to 10 minutes later.  By 7:00 traffic is no longer backed up on the road and cars are flowing in a steady stream around the building.  By 7:10 there is almost no one in car pool and cars pull freely around without even waiting in line.

2) Make sure to to form into 2 lines as we come around the gym.  Many times when the 2nd line begins to move cars don't immediatly fill the void.  By pulling into the 2nd line we will get cars off the road quicker.

3) If you have students at both LOMS and LOI I would suggest dropping off your students at LOMS 1st and then coming through the LOI drop off line.  This will prevent you from having to loop all the way back around in front of LOMS.

Q: Whats the best way to see how my student is behaving at school?

A: We are using the Classroom Dojo System to keep track of student behavior this school year.  Hopefully every parents has created a Dojo account.  This will allow you to see when your student receives points for positive behavior and if they happen to lose points for a negative behavior.  We will be using these Dojo points for our positive behavior rewards at the end of each month!

Q: When do clubs start at LOI?

A: Clubs will start in October and your student's teachers will be providing you will more information about what will be avialable in the coming weeks.

I will be back with more FAQs to help all of you out, and in the mean time if there are any questions that you have please let us know!

-Mr. Thomas
