All About Cultures: Pirate Party Night
On Thursday, April 10th, HES hosted the "All About Cultures" Pirate Party Night that fed students and parents a delicious asian meal, included three rotations that included a mini-Epcot center, a dance center, and a art center. The mini-Epcot center included two stations. These two stations included a taste testing of foods from different countries and a student-led scavenger hunt that had students learn facts about different countries and they completed an exit slip on their way out. The dance center included students, parents, and staff members learning how to do different dances from various countries. The art center included students learning about and creating their own calligraphy. The final event included randomly selected students getting their chance to partake in a tradition from Spanish cultures: hitting a pinata.
Amended Schedule & Calendar
The MCPS Board of Education has approved that the last day for students will be Friday, May 30th. Closing day for staff will be on Saturday, May 31st.
In order to make May 30th the last day for students, there will be a school schedule change beginning on Thursday, April 10th and will end on Friday, April 25th.
Heath Elementary School will begin at 8:15 AM and end at 3:45 PM. By adding these 30 minutes for 12 days it allows our students to get out of school in May as opposed to June. Please be respectful of these extra 30 minutes and work hard to have your student here on time at 8:15 AM as well as respecting the closing time of 3:45 PM. Thank you for your help with this matter!
