Red Ribbon Week 2016
What is Red Ribbon Week?  Red Ribbon Week is an annual alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention awareness campaign observed throughout the United States.  At CES, we observe Red Ribbon Week through daily activities to show our choice to be drug free in our futures. 
Grandpersons Week
Grandpersons Week is coming November 14-18 with the Book Fair.  Please return reservations by October 28th.  Please note your child's lunch time is different than normal this entire week.  3rd grade families, please contact your child's homeroom teacher for directions on your child's lunch time and day of the week.

ACDA All-State Honors Choir Members
Congratulations to Mya Kelly, Karleigh Walker, Ellie Collins, Evie Coursey, Bella Rose Brown, Grace Henderson, and Haley Caronongan for qualifying for ACDA All-State Honors Choir! 
2016-2017 FPS Team Announced
Congratulations to the FPS team members: Haley Caronongan, Reagan Hartman, Carson Bradford, Sulli Crabtree, Lana Ing, Lily Grimes, Sophie Hollowell, Lauren Denton.  The FPS Coach this year is Mickey Ellis. 
Lady Mustang Basketball: Youth League and Little Dribblers
Registration for Lady Mustang "Little Dribblers" (K-2 grade), and "Youth League" (2nd grade -6th grade), will be on September 14, 15, and 16 at Strawberry Hills Arena Lobby at McCracken County High School from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.  
McCracken County Dance Team Dance Clinic
Help us kick off a great season by attending our first dance clinic hosted by MCHS dance team.  
Baptist Health, Four Rivers expand clinics to serve all Paducah-McCracken County schools
Baptist Health and Four Rivers Behavioral Health are expanding walk-in clinics to serve all McCracken County and Paducah public schools every school day, beginning with the 2016-17 year.  
1st Annual AR Used Book Sale Coming in September
Is it time for spring/summer cleaning at your house?  Looking for a place to send your used AR books?  Send them to CES.  Parents will organize them and prepare them for a sale in September, 2016.  We will have several collection points in the school beginning next week.  Proceeds from the sale will be used to buy new books for our students.  You may donate them during the summer months by dropping them off at Concord Academy.  Thanks to our parents for helping us with this recycling project! 
Community member support for S.P.E.C.I.A.L. program
Several CES 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders participated in the final round of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. program today with many great community members.  The students had to work the room, introducing themselves and carrying on a conversation with all the community volunteers present.  A big thank you to these wonderful individuals for volunteering their time today! 
Concord Elementary Teacher Selected as 2015-2016 Challenger Learning Center Outstanding Educator
Concord Elementary School fourth grade science and reading teacher, Ramona Patton, was named the 2015-2016 Challenger Learning Center as Paducah’s Outstanding Educator with a surprise presentation during an April 21 school wide program.
