Kindergarten Registration
It's that time of year again!  If you missed kindergarten registration, please stop by CES any day between 8:35-3:35 to complete paperwork and schedule a screening appointment  In order to make the registration process as smooth as possible, we ask each family to bring the following documents:
 
-Birth certificate    
 
-Two proofs of residency:
1. Valid driver's license or identification card with a McCracken County address
2. Property deed, current lease agreement, utility bill, or current tax bill.  Al proofs of residency are subject to evaluation for authenticity.
 
-Kentucky immunization certificate
 
-Kentucky physical examination form
 
-Vision exam
 
-Dental exam
 
-Social security card
 
-Legal custody papers (if applicable)
 
 *Please turn in medical appointment documentation to CES after your appointment. 
 
5th Grade HMS Visit and Graduation
 
The end of the year is quickly approaching!  Our 5th graders have several exciting activities that will be here soon.  On Friday, April 14th all 5th graders and their teachers will visit HMS to see the building, learn about the classes and clubs offered, and to meet current students, teachers, and administrators.  A parent night will be scheduled by HMS and information will be forthcoming. 
 
Tentative 5th grade promotion ceremony date has been set for Thursday, May 18th at 11:30.  This date will change if we have a snow day.  The time is flexible based on the conclusion of Heath Middle School's 8th grade graduation ceremony.

4-H Speech Winners
Congratulations to the following 5th grade students for winning our 4-H speech competition!  They will move on to the regional competition at the end of April.

PRUITT TO HOST TOWN HALL MEETINGS ON SCHOOL ACCOUNTABILITY PRUITT TO HOST TOWN HALL MEETINGS ON SCHOOL ACCOUNTABILITY
Kentucky Education Commissioner Stephen Pruitt will be hosting a series of regional Town Hall Meetings across the Commonwealth to gather feedback from Kentuckians on a new accountability system that has been under development for the past year. McCracken County High School will host a meeting Monday, April 10. 
Jump Rope for Heart Record Set!
Congraulations to Callie Madison for raising the most money in school history for Jump Rope for Heart this year with $1,020!

Kentucky Society Daughters of the American Revolution Junior American Citizen Contest Winners

Congratulations to Mareeha Iqbal, winner, and Jeramiah Growel, runner-up in the Concord Spelling Bee.  Both fifth graders will compete on February 23rd in the McCracken County Spelling Bee. 
Save the Date!
PTO will hold a father/son event on March 17th and the father/daughter dance will be on April 28th.  More information in the coming months!  Thank you to our PTO members who plan these events.

Students from Heath Elementary, Concord Elementary, Reidland Intermediate, Lone Oak Middle, and McCracken County High School were announced as award winners in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Poster, Poetry, and Essay Contest at an awards presentation held at Paducah Middle School on January 15, 2017.
