How to Speak Like A Pirate! 1. Drop your "g's" when you speak so that you'll say rowin' and sailin' and fishin'. If you drop your "v's" you'll get words like ne'er and o'er instead of never and over. 2. Instead of saying I AM, say I BE. Instead of saying YOU ARE, say You be. Pirates tend to speak in the present tense. 3. Pirates use a lot of adjectives. Try saying two together instead of one. For example, instead of saying "that's a beautiful boat," say" "it's a great grand ship." Be Bold and colorful with your adjectives! 4. If nothing else, simply start with " Arr, me mateys! How be ye? and you'll find the rrrrrrest will come easily enough! And don't forget that it's yerrr instead of your. There are lots of "r's" in this language, arrrrrren't therrrrrrre?
