Top Dog Behavior System Description

RMS TOP DOG

* All students start each 9 weeks with 100 points. Discipline offenses fall into one of six levels. Students lose points for misbehavior.

When a student’s points fall below the following pre-determined levels, he/she receives the designated consequence:

         90-100 points–No punishment

80-89 points–3 days of Lunch Kennel

70-79 points–5 days of Lunch Kennel

         60-69 points– ISD 3 days

         50-59 points– ISD 4 days

         40-49 points– ISD 5 days

         30-39 points– ISD 8 days

    20-29 points– ISD 10 days/ Alternative School

        below 20 points– ISD/Alternative School/Suspension

 * Offenses such as disrespect, inappropriate language, disruptive behavior, etc. have varying levels of severity. Administration may deduct more points or assign automatic consequences if deemed necessary.

* Any student who is involved in a fight will receive 5 days of ISD at a MINIMUM. That student’s point level will be dropped so that subsequent offenses will result in additional days of ISD.

* Total points lost for the nine weeks will be monitored by administration. If a student reaches more than 10 total points lost for the nine weeks, the parents will be contacted for a conference. Interventions will be set up to correct the student’s behavior.

* Students assigned to ISD will not participate in any extra-curricular activities to include sports, club activities, dances, etc.

* Any student who falls below 60 points will not be allowed to participate in OR ATTEND extra- curricular activities. This includes club activities, field trips, athletic events, dances, etc. Once a student falls below 60 points, no points can be earned back.

* Students may earn points back but only from the teacher deducting points. This is done by maintaining good behavior for a period of time, left to the teacher’s discretion. No points may be earned back during the last week of the nine weeks.

* At the end of the nine week period:

      - All students with at least 90 points will qualify for the full reward.

      - All students with at least 80 points will qualify for a 20-minute reward break.

* Students that have maintained 390 points or above for the entire year, have no unexcused absences, and have participated in at least one community service project will earn an off-campus trip in May.
