Reading - Sheila Robinson

Mrs. Robinson teaches 8th grade Reading, and this year is her 24th year of teaching middle school English. She is a 1990 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Journalism. After working a few years "in the real world," she returned to college in 1994 for a degree in English Education. She earned a Master's of Arts degree in American and European Literature from Murray State in 2000 and a Master's of Science degree in Technology and Library Media from Western Kentucky University in 2003.  Mrs. Robinson occasionally teaches English 101 at West Kentucky Community and Technical College as an Adjunct Instructor.

Mrs. Robinson lives in Sharpe in Marshall County with her daughter Cora and husband Brad. Cora graduated from Marshall County High School in May 2018 and will be attending West Kentucky Community and Technical College for two years and then transferring to the University of Kentucky to study pre-med in dermatology. Mrs. Robinson also has four fur babies -- two cats, Benga and Tiggy; and two dogs, Tank and Sofie.  Unsurprisingly, one of her favorite things to do is READ; she currently has a list of unread books that seems to be getting longer rather than shorter.  She spends a lot of time in the kitchen honing her gourmet cooking skills and sharing the outcome with friends and family. On beautiful days, you will also see her kayaking on Kentucky Lake.

Language Arts - Stephanie Ford

Mrs. Ford is so excited to be the 8th grade writing teacher at RMS! She graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in middle school education with an emphasis in English and social studies in 2000. In 2004, she received her master's degree with a reading and writing endorsement for all grades. In 2015, she earned a second master's degree from the University of the Cumberlands with a teacher leader certification. She is now working toward a doctoral degree in educational leadership from UC!

Prior to coming to RMS, Mrs. Ford taught at Mayfield Middle School and Central Elementary School as an English teacher and a reading interventionist. Teaching is her passion, and she consistently challenges students to learn at high levels! In addition to classroom teaching, Mrs. Ford has been instrumental in several clubs and programs at RMS. She works with Student Council, FCA, Youth Cafe, and Career Cruising Club. Outside of RMS, Mrs. Ford has been a presenter for both Purchase Area Writing Project and Kentucky Council for Teachers of English, and she has had several articles and professional writing pieces published.

When she is not at school, Mrs. Ford enjoys vacationing at the beach with her family and watching her kids play sports. Her son, Skyler, is a 6th grader at Reidland Middle, and her stepson, Keadon, is a freshman at Marshall County High School.

Be sure to sign up for Remind 101 texts to communicate with her this year. She will send out weekly texts and be able to receive texts from you as well. Students are welcome and encouraged to sign up to receive the texts so they will get reminders and updates. Simply text @mrsfordel to the number 81010. You will then be asked a couple of simple questions. After answering the questions, you will receive all messages that she sends! You can respond with questions or comments that only she will be able to see.
