Reading - Mariah Clark
I am very enthusiastic about joining the RMS Staff as this will be my first year as a Greyhound. I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle School Education with an emphasis in Language Arts and Social Studies. I am currently pursuing my Masters Degree in School Counseling. I spent one year as a Reading Interventionist at Bowling Green Junior High and the last 6 as an 8th Grade Reading Teacher at Hopkinsville Middle School. My husband and I have 2 beautiful little girls, Kinley and Elliot, that are very energetic and fun. In my spare time I enjoy watching my oldest daughter dance competitively, reading, and supporting MCHS football. I look forward to a great year at RMS.
Social Studies - Jeff Gentry
Jeff Gentry teaches 8th grade US History and is part of the McCracken County Middle School Football coaching team. Mr. Gentry came to Reidland Middle School in 2014 pursuing his passion to teach after leaving a career in personal financial management. He attended Murray State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. Mr. Gentry also spent over 20 years serving in the US military in which he shares many of his real world experiences with his students. Mr. Gentry joined the United States Marine Corps 1994 and served in the infantry for nine years. After leaving the Marine Corps in 2003 he joined the United States Army Reserves in Paducah, Kentucky where he received training to become a M1A1/A2 tank instructor and Drill Sergeant; training soldiers at Fort Lenard Wood, Fort Knox, and Fort Benning. It was during his time leading and training young men and women into soldiers that he knew his calling was to teach.

Mr. Gentry has a passion for history and always says he wanted to teach history to share his passion with his students. Mr. Gentry however has one passion more important than teaching history and that is his family. Mr. Gentry and his wife Jimilee have two boys Kaleb a freshman at MCHS and Konnor who just started kindergarten this year. Mr. Gentry understands the importance of family and that your children are your most valuable possessions. He takes great pride in knowing that you trust him with those treasures and guarantees that he will take care of them as if they were his own.

In 2004, I received my master's degree with a reading and writing endorsement for all grades. In 2015, I earned my second master's degree from the University of the Cumberlands with a teacher leader certification. Teaching is my passion, and I assure you that my students will learn at high levels! It is a privilege for me to spend each day with these precious children! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding your child’s education. I strongly believe that teacher-parent communication is important, and I welcome any input you have!

Be sure to sign up for Remind 101 texts to communicate with me this year. I will send out weekly texts and be able to receive texts from you as well. Students are welcome and encouraged to sign up to receive the texts so they will get reminders and updates. Simply text @mrsfordel to the number 81010.
