Reading - Shawn Barber
Mrs. Barber is beginning her eighteenth year of teaching. Prior to coming to Reidland Middle School, she worked in Graves County Schools and Fulton County Schools. Mrs. Barber received her undergraduate and first Master's Degree at Murray State University. Her second Master's Degree and her Specialist's degree were earned from University of the Cumberlands.  

Mrs. Barber has lived in Kentucky for twenty-two years, but she is originally from northern Indiana. When she is not working, her world consists of being the mother of three beautiful children and grandmother of two grandchildren. When she is not busy with her kids, she enjoys reading, walking, cooking and crocheting.  
Language Arts - Traci McKinney

Born and raised here in Paducah, Ms. McKinney graduated from Heath High School and Murray State University. She taught Science and English at Reidland Middle School for four years from 2000-2004 before going to work as a realtor, then as the co-host of a hunting television show. She missed teaching during that time, and she is so excited to be back at RMS doing what she loves. This is Ms. McKinney's eleventh year teaching at RMS. She has a master's degree as a Reading and Writing Specialist grades P-12, and she is currently working toward a second master's degree as a School Counselor that she will finish this spring. Ms. McKinney was also a part of the Purchase Area Writing Project in 2016. When asked about teaching, Ms. McKinney exclaimed, "I love working with students everyday and teaching them skills they will use throughout their lives!"
 
Mathematics - Elizabeth Tilford
 This is Mrs. Tilford's 4th year teaching at RMS and her 7th year overall. She and her husband lived in Lexington for three years while he attended UK College of Pharmacy; they moved back to their hometown of Paducah after their first daughter was born. Mrs. Tilford is happy to be teaching 7th grade math and Pre-algebra for the upcoming year, as well as  being able to teach some of her kiddos from last year. She graduated from Murray State in 2012 and received her Master's in Special Education from the University of the Cumberlands in 2018. She has two daughters, Caroline who is 3, and Clara who will be one in September. When asked about the year,Mrs. Tilford declared, "We are going to have a fun and productive school year; I will push you because I know you can do it, and I will be there to help you achieve your goals. I am looking forward to an exciting year!"
 
 
Science - Katherine Watson
This is Mrs. Watson's second year teaching 7th grade Science at Reidland Middle School, but it is her fourteenth year teaching Science.  She graduated from Illinois College with a degree in Biology and received her teaching degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  Mrs. Watson, along with her husband and three children, recently moved from Carterville, Illinois where she taught Biology and Physics for the first part of her career.  In her time away from school, Mrs. Watson enjoys spending time with her family and dogs outdoors, either playing at the lake or watching her kids play sports. She is looking forward to an exciting year of helping students acquire the skills they need to become successful young adults.
Social Studies - Levi Sanders
Mr. Sanders is beginning his third year at RMS, teaching seventh grade Social Studies. He graduated from Marshall County High School in 2012 and went on to attend Lindsey Wilson College, where he was a full time student athlete playing football. He earned his Bachelors degree in History/Social Science Education from LWC in 2016. Mr. Sanders also coaches middle school football for McCracken County, and he is the 7th and 8th grade Boys Basketball Coach here at Reidland Middle. Mr. Sanders and his beautiful wife, Christy, just married in December of 2016. They have a cat named Marie and a basset hound named Mable that keep them entertained. Mr. Sanders' free time consists of hunting, fishing, Dallas Cowboys football, and his vegetable garden. He is excited for another year with an awesome group of students here at RMS!
